Soundwaves Concert, Wednesday the 16th May, HMAS Cerberus.

A Review.
The best concert I've heard for a long time, was it the Music selection !
The audience was treated to a night of wonderful music by George Gershwin. The selections, "Gershwin on Broadway" and "Porgy and Bess" were excellent and really brought the talents of the band to the fore. As always LT Klohs' gave a wonderful performance out the front and definitely enjoyed conducting the show piece "An American in Paris".
The voice of Able Seaman Stephanie Monk was also in its peak with the memorable "Embraceable You" and then later with the Admirals own Big Band performing "The Man I Love" and with the smaller Jazz group, "Summertime". Summertime was an interesting arrangement by Leading Seaman Adam Arnold as he incorporated the 70's pop tune "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry.
An American in Paris was the highlight of the night and you could not fault it, an excellent performance, well done to the Melbourne Detachment. LT Klohs' informed the audience of their pending trip to Hong Kong for the Hong Kong International Tatoo in June. LT Matthew Klohs' also acknowledged one of our association members, Ken Brown who introduced himself to Matthew earlier in the evening, and it was then that Ken informed him that he had served with Matthew's father in the 60's and 70's.

Look forward to the Concert in July.
